Amy Grose, RMHCI

 

Amy Grose is a clinical mental health counseling intern, working towards licensure in Florida. She achieved remarkable academic success, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Hodges University with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Prior to that, she also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colorado Technical University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. As a dedicated new professional, Amy is an active member of several important counseling associations, including The American Counseling Association (ACA), the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP), and The Association for Play Therapy (A4PT).

Amy boasts a rich background in the healthcare industry, with almost 15 years of experience. In her practice, she employs an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from various methodologies such as Theocentric, Existential, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, as well as Solution-Focused and Person-Centered Therapies. When working with young children, some as young as 2 years old, Amy incorporates techniques such as sand tray and play therapy.

Her treatment philosophy revolves around a trauma-informed, holistic approach, where she considers factors like spirituality/religion, dietary habits, self-care, and psychoeducation, tailored to the preferences of each client. Amy's counseling style leans toward an existential approach, aimed at helping individuals and couples navigate the challenges of contemporary life, including feelings of isolation, alienation, and meaninglessness. This approach is rooted in respect for the individual and a commitment to exploring various aspects of human behavior and understanding. Amy firmly believes that everyone possesses the capacity to heal with the right guidance and therapeutic tools. She is a supportive and compassionate presence throughout her clients' healing journeys, fostering a strong therapeutic relationship to aid them every step of the way.
